Forbes writer Laura Begley Bloom covered the growing wave of Americans leaving the US, and GTFO Tours was at the center of it.

The story followed Lalita Coetsee and Nico Garza, a couple from Colorado who found us while researching their options after the 2024 election. Within weeks of discovering GTFO, they had made the decision, applied for the DAFT visa, and moved to the Netherlands. Lalita told Forbes she had left South Africa years earlier because of crime and corruption, and that the US had started to feel the same way.
Jana and Bethany both spoke with Forbes about how the tours work and why the Netherlands makes sense for so many Americans. Jana talked about the demand that made GTFO necessary: people who wanted to leave but didn't believe they could afford it, didn't know how, or had unrealistic expectations about expat life. Bethany talked about her own move to Amsterdam and why she never looked back.
The piece also introduced Christopher O'Connell, a former Oregon wine industry worker who moved his family to the Netherlands in 44 days and later became a GTFO partner through his own tour company.
