Move Abroad to Find Love

GTFO Tours Co-founder Bethany Quinn is a big proponent of dating in the Netherlands and of partnering with the Dutch.
In fact, she's such a fan of the experience, she not only married her Dutch partner Robin*, she created the Move Abroad to Find Love Tour. Her goal is to let Americans - and especially single Americans - know that life and dating are much, much better abroad.
“It can actually be easier to move abroad when you’re single, and a lot of the things you do to get out of a rut: meeting new people who share your hobbies, going to new events, having a fresh, optimistic outlook, are things that you do when you move abroad.”
Bethany says dating in the Netherlands is much, much better than dating in the US. She credits the difference to having a country full of people who are not constantly suppressing trauma (unlike Americans, Bethany asserts). Bethany, who is pansexual, says her praise of the Dutch for dating includes folks across the gender spectrum.

“The Netherlands is full of emotionally available, egalitarian, straightforward, disproportionately attractive people. I had a fantastic time dating here before I met my now husband.”
In an informal survey, 72% of Americans who were single when they moved to the Netherlands found a long-term partner once they moved here.
While GTFO Tours is absolutely not running a marriage for passport program, Bethany points out that the route to a Dutch passport is much better for those who live with a Dutch partner. Instead of being eligible for a Dutch passport after five years and having to relinquish your US citizenship, those who partner with Dutch people can apply after three years of living in the Netherlands together and they are allowed to keep their other passports.
“If you’re done with the drama of living and dating in the US and are ready for your next big adventure, this is the tour for you.”
The Move Abroad to Find Love Tour will take place September 19 to 27 and will include the full relocation tour plus additional activities including a wine tour, a day in Eindhoven, photo shoot for dating app photos (with hair and makeup) and multiple networking/dating opportunities.
*Bethany and Robin already had their official wedding in city hall but will celebrate with friends and family at a large wedding at the Leiden Botanical Gardens in August.
